With the winter not knowing what it wants to do we have a weather break that will allow us to take on a huge project that needs your help. For years now the Summit Church building has been obscured from I-74/US311 and the vegetation along the highway continues to grow. We are acquiring a permit to clear a small area of road frontage of undergrowth and select trees that are under a 4″ base in order to open up the view of the building. Eventually there may be some signage used to identify who we are but for now, this is the first and foremost step.
This project will require any or all of the following tools (Bold safety items are a must):
- Eye protection
- Heavy gloves (leather is preferred)
- Long sleeved shirts
- Heavy shoes (boots)
Additional Items Needed:
- Chain saws
- Pruning saws
- Pruning shears (large and small)
- Pitch forks
- Wheel barrows
- Pick up trucks
- commercial chipper, contact David for details at email@example.com
- skid steer with bucket (bucket and bush hog attachments, contact David for details at firstname.lastname@example.org
All of this work will require us to remove all debris that we cannot cut or chip up to spread on the ground. Because of the proximity to the interstate where we will be working we are asking for volunteers who are 18 years of age or older to register.
Looking forward to making the vision of the Summit clearer to our neighbors!
