Hello Summit Family,
I pray that you are well as we near Easter weekend. As the reality of COVID-19 sets into our daily lives more deeply, I think we all are aware of the pain in our world more than we have been in quite some time, perhaps ever; I know I am. And I find it interesting that as we go through “Holy Week” and reflect on Jesus, our suffering Savior, we are surrounded with so much suffering, on multiple levels.
My prayer is that the power and peace of our suffering, yet risen, Savior will fill our lives more than ever. Come to Him. Lean on Him. Rest in Him. He is our hope, our strength, and our sanity. We are brothers and sisters together in Him! We will endure and overcome through Him! And all of this is possible because He is alive and well in us and at work in our broken world!
Here’s what you need to know this week:
Good Friday Communion: Join us this Good Friday for a time of worship through Communion. Yes, we are going to experience Communion virtually, yet no less real. It’ll be about a 15 minute time of reflection together as we remember the death of Jesus for the world. Get some wine/grape juice and bread/crackers from your kitchen (or whatever you can find) and gather your family with ours anytime, on-demand this Friday or Saturday. This will be a meaningful moment we will never forget.
Easter at Home: Join us on Easter Sunday as we celebrate our risen Savior! We will celebrate through uplifting music, reflection in the Scriptures, and encouragement in the new reality His resurrection brings in our lives now. Never before in the history of the Church has there been an Easter like this one. This will be a defining moment for us all. Invite a friend or family member to join us too. The Easter service will be on-demand all day Easter Sunday and into next week.
Stay Up To Date: Our website will remain the best place for you to go for all things Summit during this time: updates, watching online messages, ways to get involved, Peak, KidSummit, Impact, and online giving.
Give Online: As this crisis continues, the needs are increasing all around us. We are doing all we can to help as many as we can. When you give, you’re a part of making that happen. You can give by clicking here.
New Series after Easter: Join us for a new series the weekend after Easter that is all about relationships, any relationship. It’s called, “Life Hacks: Relationship Edition”. COVID-19 is stressing all of our relationships. What a perfect time to figure out some “hacks” to help us all out. And it’s the perfect time to get into an Online Group to discuss this series with your fellow Summit peeps! (If you’d like to get into an Online Group, click here or text CircleUp to 41411.)
Well, that’s all for now. Till we meet virtually on Good Friday and Easter Sunday,
Wash your hands. Trust the Lord, because He is Risen, Indeed!
